Build Your Gallery

There is a physical (or perhaps digital) part of your world that is plain, boring, and bare. Find it, then stare at it.

You are now the gallerist of this space for the next year.

To play The Gallerist, you will make art and display it in your chosen "gallery" (i.e., a wall, a fridge door, an Instagram page, etc.), all the while building an archive of your work via the included Notion template. Your gallery initially starts with only 3 spots for art and increases by 1 every month you meet your art goal. As there are limited spots in your gallery, new art must replace old art if it is to go on display.

At the end of the year, a Collection is formed, and your gallery starts anew with 3 spots, possibly in a new space. Start with a scribble if you have to--you will doubtlessly improve. The only way to win this game is to improve as an artist and build your confidence with each year you participate. There is no way to lose. Good luck.

I'd love to see your archive at the end of the year! If you'd like to, feel free to email me or tag me on your progress post on Twitter (This goes without saying, but I won't use your art for anything, I'll just be really happy to see your work 😅).
